Task 2:

1. In some countries, celebrities complain about the way the media publicizes their private lives. Some people say that they should accept it as part of their fame. Do you agree or disagree?

2. Many customs and traditional ways of behavior are no longer relevant to modern life and not worth keeping. Do you agree or disagree?

3. It was predicted that with the development of technology, people in the 21st century would have much more free time than in the past. To what extent has this prediction come true?

4. Today, more and more people want things instantly (e.g. goods, services, news). Why is this the case? Is it a positive or negative development?

5. Some teachers think that international student exchange would be beneficial for all teenage school students. Do you think its advantages will outweigh the disadvantages?

6. Students leave high school without learning how to manage their money. What are the reasons for this? What are the solutions for this issue?

7. Some people think employers should not care about the way their employees dress, but rather the quality of their work. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

8. Employees should be given at least four weeks of holidays a year to be better at their jobs. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

9. Nowadays, everyone wants to have a TV, a car, and a refrigerator. Do the disadvantages to society outweigh the advantages?

10. The main aim of advertisements is to increase the sales of products that people do not need. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

11. The international community must act immediately to ensure all nations reduce the consumption of fossil fuels (gas and oil). To what extent do you agree or disagree?

12. Fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas are the main energy sources in many countries. The use of renewable energy like wind and solar power is being encouraged. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?
